Green Valley Arizona Desert Hills GVR Rec CenterGreen Valley Recreation, Inc. is a non-profit organization serving the leisure and social needs of the adult retirement community of Green Valley, Arizona Green Valley Recreation owns and operated 12 recreation facilities throughout Green Valley as pictured on this GVR Map. Green Valley Recreation provides many services and activities to a private membership base of over 12,360 households (an estimated 24,000 individuals).  Hundreds of volunteers assist a dedicated staff to help operate year-round programs for both active and passive adult lifestyles.  Annual dues and fees support this community resource.  In addition to fitness related activities, other activities offered include: classes, concerts, dances, special events, lectures, movies & trips/tours.

Green Valley Recreation's Centers provide 126,000 square feet of interior space for members use and enjoyment. Green Valley Recreation Las Campanas Fitness Center

Green Valley Recreation offers two types of facilities: Major Centers and Satellite Centers.  You'll find facilities at all of the centers well clean and well maintained. 

Green Valley Recreation Las Campanas PoolMajor Centers are large recreation complexes serving the Green Valley Arizona community ranging in size from 15,000 sq ft to 25,000 sq ft.  Typical amenities available at Major Centers include: an auditorium, social & meeting rooms, a catering kitchen, swimming pool with a spa, hobby/craft studios, a fitness center, tennis courts and shuffleboard.  Members can get guest cards, purchase tickets to events, and register for classes at each major center office.Green Valley Recreation Casa Paloma Pool

Satellite Centers are smaller neighborhood centers averaging 2,000 sq ft in size.  Typical amenities at a Sattelite Center include: a meeting room, kitchenette, swimming pool with spa and a shade ramada.

GVR also has more than 60 special interest clubs, providing a wide range of programming on their own with minimal support from staff. Also offered are numerous "drop-in" activites including use of fitness to a gift shop featuring the creative art of GVR members.  GVRs uniqueness comes from the synergy between staff and the more than two thousand volunteers giving time to the organization. An elected volunteer board of directors control policy, while staff implement programs. Volunteers give time in every aspect of GVR from monitoring at the swimming pools to providing fitness center orientations. 

Over the past 25 years GVR has been a leading factor to attract retirees to Green Valley. In retrospect, it would seem extremely difficult to imagine what might have happened to the general development of this area without the enjoyable leisure opportunities provided by Green Valley Recreation.
